Standard soldering iron 150 W up to 450 ° (230 V)
SKU: 101408Standard soldering iron 150 W (up to 450 °)
for soldering Bowden cable nipples
Info:
Galvanized wire ropes: Use of soldering water
Stainless steel wire ropes: Use solder oil
Soldering tin: SN 97 Ag 3 can be used for both types of wire rope.
How can I tell which rope I have?
– Galvanized wire ropes are strongly magnetic (optically silver with a very light blue shimmer)
– Stainless steel wire ropes are not or only slightly magnetic (optically shiny with a very slight yellow shimmer)
The following generally applies:
Wire ropes must be completely free of grease and dirt. Especially when soldering used ropes it can lead to difficulties.
With stainless steel ropes, soldering used ropes is almost impossible. If so, then definitely clean well with thinner and compressed air.
